Hollywood is doing the same thing again.
An Alien civilization is fighting for its life against an alien invading force.
We are invading.
Like Iraq?
Like Afghanistan?
To save the world?
Why don't we just make Iraq and Afghanistan US Territories?
Of course we will have to kill all the people
They are all other people who don't deserve to live.
We need their oil and minerals!!
